Blogs are a Fantastic Tool in the Internet Marketing Arsenal
Dec 27th, 2008 | By CJ | Category: Article WritingHere’s 5 good reasons why blogging is the newest and greatest tool that an Internet marketer can have in his/her arsenal for use is creating a strong online income.
The act of blogging is an idea that began in the late 1990’s. It began as a way to make a statement about something, via a webpage of one’s own and as an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or express their views on this page. What began as a mere opinions have now become personal pages on almost everything and anything under the sun and sky. As this development continues, online advertising is finding a new potential in blogging.
1. Blogging is dead-easy. The easiest way to own your corner of the Internet is through blogging. An extensive knowledge is not necessary. The average adult who can read and write, or click a mouse, can find enough information necessary to write a coherent viewpoint on any subject. It’s like having paper and pen before you to write about your concepts and plans, your experiences and opinions about products, and, hopefully, to attract the reader to try your product. If you have a computer and an Internet connection, then you can blog and make use of advertising as a method of monetizing your work.
2. Blogging is real and authoritative. We live in a time where advertising saturates our consciousness every day. It is easy to doubt the credibility of the promoters and of their claims. But with blogs, real people share their real experiences in real life. The advertising is simply using a way of monetizing to support the blog. It is also another resource for the searcher who landed on your blog’s page. Reading blogs on the first-hand use of a product is like talking face to face with people about their experiences before purchasing. Everyone wants to buy a proven product.
3. Blogging is low– or no-cost. Because blogs are not identified as an important means of advertising online, most sites see it as something of an “extra”, and therefore free. Any possibility of free exposure is a premium, especially for new ventures.
4. Blogging creates authority. The more you write about your experience and expertise on or about a product or industry, readers will find that they can trust your posts for their own information needs. Thus, as the relationships grows, you are seen as an authority and will gain the intrinsic exposure inherent with this expertise. Readers will begin to link to your site, subscribe to your RSS feeds and recommend your site to others. As you gain popularity, the payment due you, for advertising on your blog, increases.
5. Blogging builds your market. Here are some ways of using the blog:
-Use an autoresponder to create valuable and informative emails that are sent out automatically to your readers once they sign up. Make it easy for them to sign up and you might also consider offering them a freebie of some kind, as a reward for signing up to your newsletter or eZine.
-Write an effective signature for the forums you visit. Forum marketing is an excellent way to boost your readership at your blog.
-Understand your readers. Simple surveys for your readers to fill out will help you get to know them and their needs. And, by the way, people generally LOVE talking about themselves and seem to enjoy filling out forms, so this one is is a must-do.
-Become part of a blogger’s network. This is a collection of blogs that, generally, are in the same genre as yours. The ease with which readers can peruse headlines makes the convenience factor a very alluring one. All you have to do is write posts with provocative headlines (titles) and many more people will be clicking on the link to read the whole post.
-Utilize RSS. An RSS feed to your blog is another absolute “must do” as it is a method for your readers to stay updated about new posts to your blog. This way, they won’t have to remind themselves to visit every day to check for new posts, which, trust me, they won’t do, anyway.
Your business with a new impetus makes blogging an important tool in your marketing arsenal. Get to it!
