Picking out a good niche subject to base your Internet site around is one of the most essential factors of making money off of your articles. Finding a good niche to start with offers you a nice size target audience to go after. The secret with the keywords is to take each of those popular keywords and create a page on your website based on that keyword. Using the keywords this way allows you to reach more people within the same niche. Setting up your site this way increases the chances that while your visitor is there they may browse the other pages you have to gain more details.

Tip: Visit these links to find more article writing tips

To locate the “hot” keywords that individuals in your niche are searching for is with keyword software programming. The software program will allow you to create a list of phrases and keywords that people are looking for within the niche. There are software programs which will in addition tell you how many other sites are competing with you for the identical word or phrase (this is a fantastic tool for judging competition). You then decide which of these would be most moneymaking by determining which have the least amount of contenders. This way you have an opportunity at making it to the first or second page of search engine results, but that also have a decent amount of individuals looking for that keyword or phrase every month. Producing pages off of these keywords will help you create a solid website.

Making Money with Articles: Free Article Content

To make an income and gain visitors, some web designers use free written content. This is mostly essential for those who have just started working as an affiliate for several businesses and do not yet have any funding, yet need to built small niche websites for visitors to their site so that they can set about making revenue.

Although this can be the only means now and again, it really is not the way to go about building a Internet site effectively. For many reasons, free content can actually be counterproductive to establishing a solid business.

Problem #1 – Search Engines

Search engines will look down on your Internet site if it has the exact same replicated content as other sites. The more sites that share your written content, the less it will help you accomplish good search engine rankings.

The secret to getting visitors is to be placed high enough on the search page that individuals are going to see you. To get traffic you need to discover SEO rules and stick with them to heighten your ranking.

Problem #2 – Getting visitors to click

Rising your placing and getting traffic is not an easy job, though it is only half the battle you have to get your visitors to click on your links to buy your products. If your visitors see the identical content they have seen on a multitude of other sites, they will be less likely to click on your affiliate links. This is because the majority of individuals want to purchase things that are advocated by people that they trust or whom they feel like are an expert on the subject.

Here's Part 3 of my 3-part Article Marketing Plan.

Do you think it odd that article marketing encompasses other forms of marketing? Or is it the other way around? At any rate, today’s step 3 is about Social Marketing. This aspect involves forum marketing, blog commenting and visiting sites like Yahoo Answers.

During each day, for just one product/project/campaign, you have been writing articles and posting them to the article directories. Using Pingler.com and Onlywire.com, you have been pinging and bookmarking the articles each day.

You should start seeing some kind of results soon, if you haven’t already. Have you checked Google for your keywords yet? Head for Google and do that. First do a broad match (placing the keywords in the box) and see if your page comes up anywhere in the first three pages results. If not, this will tell you you have more articles to write and more lenses/hubpages to create.

Remember, all your links in all the articles and lenses/hub pages should point back to the first batch of articles you posted at GoArticles.com. THOSE are the articles you are looking to find in a Google SERP.

The next action item to integrate into your campaign is hitting the trail, so to speak and doing some forum marketing, blog commenting and answering some Yahoo Answers questions.

But where? Head back to Google and type in, Forum: (YOUR KEYWORD HERE). In other words, if you are writing articles about iguanas, then a forum search term at Google would be “Forum: iguanas” and such (with or without quotes–doesn’t matter, in this instance. Try both ways, see what comes up).

Make note of each forum’s popularity and page rank. Write down (or Favorite) any that look interesting to you. These will be the Forums you will visit, a little later on. What you will be doing is creating a profile, with appropriate signatures, and then you’ll start posting. But only after you’ve gathered a list of Forums to visit.

Next, back to Google and type in, blog: iguanas (following our previous example). Just like your Forums list, make a list of potential blogs to visit. Then one more time at Google, type in, site: iguanas. Again, make note of sites with high PR and popularity. Not every website will have the capability for commenting (like having guestbooks and whatnot), but some do and it’s worth a try. That’s why you can also go back to Google and type blog: iguanas.

Make note of sites/blog that have potential for your needs. Why am I suggesting you only make note of these sites? I find that if I load up a SERP and start on that list, pretty soon, I’ve gotten derailed, looking at so many sites and searching each site for commenting sections. Before I know it, I’ve only hit one or two sites and I’m caught up in a chaos that bogs me down.

That annoys me. I find I need a plan of attack. So, I make a list of places to go, and then, I head out to do my commenting in a methodical manner.

Now you are set to get started. Head over to Yahoo Answers and do a search for any open questions that have your subject matter in the question. Find any questions you can answer and in the Source Box, create an anchor text link to one of your GoArticles articles. You may not find too many questions, but if you do this every day, you’ll start to become recognized, by the readers, as an authority on the subject.

Then get out your list of sites, and start commenting (NEVER SPAM THE WEBSITES). For the forums, of course, start registering and creating a profile complete with signatures. Then find threads to which you can make relevant posts. NEVER SPAM THE FORUMS.

You don’t have to do them all in one day, especially in the forums, where setting up profiles can be time consuming. But remember, you can’t eat an elephant all in one day, either, so just keep at it.

That’s the key to this whole darn shootin’ match. Just keep at it.

There are numerous other things you can be doing to promote your GoArticle articles, as well, and I’m sure you’ve got more than a few eBooks on your hard drive to teach you all about them. Point is, never stop promoting those articles.

That is, until it’s on auto-pilot and you’re making a decent enough income from it.

That’s my plan of attack in a 3-step nutshell. Goos luck to you all!

Part Two of an ongoing series on getting your articles posted to the first page of the SERPS--and KEEPING them there.

STEP TWO
Next on the To-Do list is making Hub pages and Squidoo lenses

This post is Step Two of a system I am lining out for you for the purpose of getting high traffic to particular articles you posted to GoArticles.com, in step one, which will lead back to your website/affiliate product/whatever you’re trying to promote. See Part One HERE.

Google loves authority sites and any time one of your links shows up on an authority site, Google places more importance, and therefore, more weight, on your links. The more weight your links have, the better ranking your link destination will receive.

Squidoo (PR 7) and Hub pages (PR 6) have been around a very long time. As it happens, they are considered authority sites by Google. Their original purpose was to give people an easy way to make a webpage, without all the hassle that goes along with building a full-fledged website. They were around long before Google decided that authority sites were a good thing. They just fell into being the right kind of website at the right time, as do many things on the Internet. You never know what’s going to happen next on the Internet.

So a hub page and a lens are basically the same thing. It’s a single page dedicated to one subject (though you could talk about more than one thing—not recommended), and allows you to place links. As with posting articles to high PR article directories, having a high PR lens or hub page pointing back to your original GoArticles articles lends credence (read that, weight) to your ultimate destination.

So, here’s the plan. After your article marketing campaign, start building lens/hub pages that point back to the original 5 GoArticles articles you posted. With the other 100 article pointing to GoArticles and your new lenses/hub pages pointing to those articles, Google is going to think your GoArticles articles are gold, and give them a prime location on the SERPS. Getting to page one of a Google search page result is really this easy!

NOTE: Squidoo is starting to crack down on certain kinds of links and products being posted to their site, so DO READ the TOS. They don’t like for their lenses to point straight back to an affiliate product sales page. So, our method of pointing back to an article (that leads to an affiliate product or redirect page) is a great solution to this dilemma. They also are apparently getting tired of all the “Make Money Online” lenses that are being created, so if that’s what you’re promoting, avoid Squidoo—for the moment. As mentioned earlier, you never know what’s going to happen on the Internet on any given day. Squidoo could change their mind or some other little combination of gimmicks could happen that makes it possible once again to advertise money-making opportunities. In any case, if you are promoting something else entirely, Squidoo is an excellent place to go.

Lenses and Hub pages are easy enough to set up. I have a great little giveaway report, written by PotPie Girl of Wealthy Affiliate to give to you. If you would like it, please use my contact form and send me a request for PotPie Girl’s Squidoo report. No strings, no sign-ups. Besides, PotPie Girl is a fantastic, HONEST marketer and if you haven’t met her yet, I highly recommend it. Just be aware that the report was written right before Squidoo changed their content policy, so bear that in mind as you are reading it. Her instructions on how to set up a Squidoo lens are still quite valid.

By The Way, have you seen the lens for Article Writing News? I would really love it if you would give a quick visit to the lens! http://www.squidoo.com/AWN

Anyway, that’s Step Two, make hub pages and lenses for each of the 5 articles you posted at GoArticles. In my next post, we’ll talk about pinging and bookmarking.

New Google SERP Features
By Chris Crum – Fri, 03/27/2009 – 13:00

Cater to Intent-Based Search

Google recently announced 2 new improvements to Google Search. The first is an expanded list of related searches, and the second is the addition of longer search result descriptions.

The company says it’s deploying a new technology that better understands associations and concepts related to searches. Google explains:

…one of its first applications lets us offer you even more useful related searches (the terms found at the bottom, and sometimes at the top, of the search results page).

For example, if you search for [principles of physics], our algorithms understand that “angular momentum,” “special relativity,” “big bang” and “quantum mechanic” are related terms that could help you find what you need.

Google says it’s able to target more queries, more languages, and make suggestions more relevant to what users are looking for. We’ve heard Google talk about wanting to get better with intent-based search, and it looks like they’re now doing something about it.

“Additionally, we’re now offering refinements for longer queries — something that’s usually a challenging task,” says a post on the Official Google Blog. The feature is available in 37 languages all around the world.”

As for the longer snippets, users will see them when they search for longer queries (which users are using more of these days). They will display more text to show more of the keywords used in the query and how they are used on the page.

These changes may not be the final word in intent-based search. The “java” example discussed by Bruce Clay late last year isn’t addressed very well here. The related searches suggested when I search for that keyword do not include coffee or country related items. Still, the features are an indication that Google is indeed looking in this direction.

The longer snippets feature is not exactly delivering more relevant results than before, but it could go a long way toward helping users determine if results in fact are relevant by giving them more info to reach a conclusion.

It is so easy to make a profit with a blog. Whether the purpose of your blog is to get traffic to your sales page or to sell affiliate products or to get Adsense clicks, getting your blog onto the first page of Google can be done quickly and easily.

With the following quick tips you could get listed on the first page of Google for some keywords within a month or two, depending on how popular and/or competitive your niche is. A video game site that used these tips got on the first page of Google, in the fifth spot, for a common search term when the site was less than one month old.

Here are the five quick tricks for getting to the first page of Google:

1. Put some well written content on your blog. Post at least once a day but not more than every two to three hours. It doesn’t look good if you are posting every few minutes. Go on with adding new content regularly. Some of the content can be duplicate content (from an article directory or private label rights articles) but the more original content the better.

Even normal web sites can display fresh content automatically

2. When you have at least five posts with well written content then submit your blog to Google’s sitemap. It’s not hard, and it only takes a few minutes. As long as you have a blog that looks genuine authentic and is not filled with scraped content, this is a good start to getting noticed by Google.

3. Write some interesting articles and submit them to article directories such as EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com, ArticleAlley.com, and SearchWarp.com. Do not submit more than one a day since it is better to not inundate the article directories or they might think you are spamming them. It is very important to have a good resource box with links back to your site.

4. Post your RSS feed to at least fifty sites. This can be done in less than a couple of minutes using RSS Submit (RSSFeedsSubmit.com), a great piece of software that automatically submits your feed to more than fifty sites. The price is very reasonable (less than $50) but if you don’t want to spend any money and would rather do it by hand, Robin Good sells a list of 55 RSS submission sites for a very small fee.

5. Get your URL link listed in numerours places. Submit your site to directories like DMOZ. Answer questions at answers.yahoo.com and include your URL with your signature. Leave comments on blogs that are in a related niche to yours, again including your URL in the signature. Do a search with the phrase “keyword add url” and add your URL at sites that allow you to do it for free. Replace “Keyword” with one of your keywords for your niche. Submit your blog to Technorati. Submit your original posts to social bookmarking sites like Digg, Netscape, Redit, Plugim, and so on. Be sure to tell friends to vote for your submissions at the social bookmarking sites.

These five quick tips will give your blog a powerful boost and get your blog on the first page of Google in a very short time. Within days you should be getting traffic from Google as you rise in the search engines. And you did it with spending little or no money.

Lots of these tips are relevant to websites, you can “simulate” the power of a Blog by using a script to automatically add new webpage content.
