Steven,
Thanks so much for dropping by and commenting! I certainly appreciate everyone who does!

As far as EZA goes, yes, they are the Number 1 article directory out there, but there's a reason why I don't use them or mention them. Everyone is, of course, free to use them, I just refrain from recommending them, is all. Here's the post I write about them detailing my "problem" with them: http://articlewritingnews.com/my-favourite-article-directory-is/

And about the math captcha... I am so sorry! I sure did not place it there to insult anyone! It's a wordpress plugin, so I don't think I can move it, but I'll look into it. MY deepest apologies!

CJ: I am surprised that you mention GoArticles but not EzineArticles, I find EZA articles ranking on first page of google more often than I find for CJ, not to mention the number of blogs that copy content from these article directories. Your point about low competition keywords, commonly referred to as long-tail keywords is what makes article syndication / submission / reprinting worth the effort.

BTW, you should move that math question 'above' submit comment button. I don't want to be called spambot just because the spam question is not placed correctly ;-)

Outstanding post. I agree that article writing is a wonderful way to generate traffic. As a matter of fact, that is what I do for a living. LOL. Well thought out and written posting, and I love your site!

Well, articles posted to the article syndication sites, like Syndicate Kahuna and Free Traffic System, will net you some backlinks if the dofollow instruction has been implemented by the site owner where the article is posted. In that, you are absolutely right. But articles posted to the article directories are an automatic backlink. And since the top-ranking article directories tend to have high page rank, this is another plus in the "eyes" of the search engines for the ranking your own sites.

Thanks for pointing that out!
